VERN’s graduate Tena Pick won the 2nd place at this year's "Best young social entrepreneur" competition that was held at LEAP Summit Zagreb 2018
She entered the competition with her new digital platform – The Sustainability Platform – which advises companies how to integrate socially responsible business principles into their core business operations, and she has won the 2nd place in the international competition of 12 projects, based on the audience’s votes and expert jury rating.
This year's competition finalists have covered various fields from assistance to blind people to socially responsible businesses, support for children, schools in Africa, the environment, etc., but the 1st place award went to the project Freewa (Free Water), which introduces innovation in bottled water consumption. The main goal of this competition is to give recognition and reward the best entrepreneurs and organizations whose projects have made an impact on community development and the world in general.
After she graduated from VERN’s Entrepreneurship Economics, Tena acquired her master degree in Social Entrepreneurship at HULT International Business School in London and during the study process she gained extraordinarily useful experiences in global projects around the world. Today she lives in Dubai where she works as a consultant for social entrepreneurship with an extensive business experience from the Middle East, the Caribbean and Asia. So far she has initiated several projects in the field of social entrepreneurship, and one of the latest is Project Kal for the education of future leaders.
During her stay in Zagreb for the LEAP Summit conference, she also visited VERN’ where she held a guest lecture for our students within the course Corporate Growth Management.
We congratulate Tena on this recognition and wish her a lot of success in her further work!
