How to apply

The steps of the application process for international students are as follows:

1. Agent applies students for a study program and submits all required documents

For online registration the Student/Agent needs to upload on VERN’ web site:

  1. Passport copy
  2. Certificate of citizenship or appropriate proof of citizenship (in English language)
  3. Birth certificate (in English language)
  4. Educational documents:
    1. diplomas of completed secondary level of education and transcript of records in the original language (original or certified by an authorized institution)
    2. diplomas of completed secondary level of education and transcript of records in English language and in Latin script certified by an authorized institution
    3. TOFEL, IELTS certificates (not mandatory – only in case when student has the certificates)

2. VERN’ accesses all the submitted documents

All required documents will be verified by VERN' University.

If all uploaded documents are in order candidate will receive payment instructions regarding non-refundable application fee/admission interview in amount of 50 EUR to VERN’ University bank account (bank charges not included). Non-refundable application fee/admission interview will not be returned in cases:

  • Candidate is not accepted after the interview process
  • Candidate validation of secondary degree level study documents has failed
  • Visa is denied to the candidate
  • Candidates withdrawal from enrolment or study process

Proof of payment must be sent to VERN’ University.

After the payment is received candidate will receive details regarding time and date of the interview.

3. VERN’ hosts an admission interview

Interview commission consists of three members of VERN’ faculty, one of whom is the head or a teacher of the study program the student is applying for.

The admission interview takes place via Skype or Zoom.

4. VERN’ issues an offer letter

If the interview is:

Failed - VERN’ informs the applicant they are not accepted.

Passed - VERN’ informs the applicant they are accepted.

5. Student / Agent sends documents for secondary school diploma validation

Applicant or agent must send to VERN’:

1. originals of all required documents by DHL or post,

2. proof of payment for the recognition procedure of educational documents in amount of 200 EUR (bank charges not included). This fee is non-refundable if student secondary degree level study documents are not certified or visa is denied.

3. Bank statement - proof of sufficient funds to support oneself and pay for tuition fee with minimum amount of 12,000 EUR (bank statement from you, family and/or sponsor)

Recognition procedure consists of:

  1. translation of all documents into Croatian language
  2. diploma validation
  3. cost of DHL in case applicant is rejected after the recognition procedure or visa procedure

6. VERN’ coordinates diploma recognition procedure with the appropriate government agencies

Once all education documents are delivered VERN’ will translate them to Croatian language and send them to the appropriate government agencies for recognition process.

a) Education and Teacher Training Agency - recognition of qualifications attesting the completion of primary and secondary education (general or art secondary education program)

or

b) Agency for Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education - recognition of qualifications attesting the completion of vocational secondary education programs (VET programs)

Depending on the arrival of the documentation from the student’s country of origin and the fact that agencies can take up to 30 days to process the documents, the student can expect to receive a feedback within 45 to 60 days.

7. Study Contract

After successful diploma recognition procedure student needs to sign VERN’s Student Contract for Study.

8. Student pays the tuition fee

The total tuition for the three-year study is 15.000,00 EUR- bank charges not included

9. Student applies for a visa

Visa process is done at Croatian diplomatic mission or consular office. Detail process for obtaining the visa is prescribed by Croatian diplomatic mission or consular office. Student is obligated to follow all procedures and to deliver all documents that are asked from Croatian diplomatic mission or consular office.

Mandatory documents by Minister of Foreign Affairs:

1. all documents requested by the Croatian Embassy or Consular Office and are part of the visa process (passport, forms etc.)

2. bank statement: proof of sufficient funds to support oneself with min. amount requested by the Croatian Embassy or Consular Office

3. health insurance (depending on the country of student's origin)

4. Guarantee letter for visa procedure (VERN’ acceptance letter for study)

Additional documentation (depends on the country):

5. travel insurance

6. additional medical test

7. sponsor letter

10. Student / Agent sends a copy of the visa to VERN’

Applicant or agent sends a copy of applicant’s visa and ticket to VERN.

11. Visa approval and student’s arrival

If visa is:

Issued - VERN’ prepares the instructions for students’ arrival

Denied -VERN’ refunds the whole tuition fee minus the bank fees and transfer costs

12. Upon student's arrival the student undergoes the formalities at VERN’ and receives a student ID

On arrival student is required to bring a set of the following original documents:

Passport

1 photograph 35x45

signed agreement VERN’ -Student (first day at VERN’ student will sign agreement VERN’ - Student and he/she will receive decision about admission to the study program).

Students receive student ID card.

E.g., in Croatia students have 50% discount for public transportation and most public services, cinemas etc.
