VERN’s Vice-Dean for Study Programs Ms. Višnja Grozdanić, M.Sc. has been awarded Social Entrepreneurship Promoter Award for the year 2012. She was awarded for her long time strong support of the need to incorporate social entrepreneurship into courses at VERN’
She was presented with the award by Minister of Labor and Pension System of the Republic of Croatia Mr. Mirando Mrsić. The awards are handed out by NGO Slap and the Ministry of Labor and Pension System of the Republic of Croatia.
Our Vice-Dean won the award in a very strong competition in her category, competing against many great promoters of social entrepreneurship in Croatia.
We are following the European and global trends so we have implemented teaching about new forms of entrepreneurship into the curriculum of our study programs in early stages. In this way we are making our contribution by developing students' awareness about the importance of this form of entrepreneurship and the results can already be seen in some of their smaller projects. We are expecting an even greater impact with the introduction of elective course on social entrepreneurship and social innovations. This is why this award is in fact recognition of VERN’ and its lecturers of entrepreneurship.
